The Foreign Minister opened the meeting by conveying greetings from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Lebanese Prime Minister, emphasizing the full support of the Egyptian political leadership for the Lebanese government's efforts to navigate this critical phase.

He noted that the urgent aid package, estimated at approximately 1,000 tons and sent at the President's direction, aims to meet the pressing needs of the Lebanese people. He added that this reflects Egypt's commitment as a key supporter in preserving Lebanon's resources and national institutions.

For his part, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam expressed his gratitude and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, acknowledging Egypt's practical and tangible solidarity. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Lebanese government and people appreciate the swift Egyptian relief response and Cairo's principled stances, which consistently prioritize Lebanon's interests and territorial integrity in regional and international forums.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's solidarity with Lebanon during this critical time. He noted that the Minister's five visits to Beirut within two years demonstrate that Lebanon's security and stability remain at the heart of Egyptian diplomatic priorities.

The Foreign Minister affirmed that the aid shipment reflects Egypt's solidarity with the government and people of Lebanon, expressing Cairo's deep appreciation for the efforts of Lebanese institutions in accommodating and caring for the displaced.

The Foreign Minister also reiterated Egypt's categorical rejection of Israeli military operations, condemning the ground incursions into southern Lebanon and the airstrikes across the country.

He warned of the catastrophic repercussions of policies involving the destruction of infrastructure and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands. He stressed that exploiting a humanitarian crisis for political gain or military pressure is contrary to all international norms.

The Foreign Minister concluded by reiterating the cornerstones of the Egyptian position: a complete cessation of hostilities and the full, impartial implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

He reaffirmed Egypt's support for the Lebanese government's efforts to extend its authority over all Lebanese territory and to ensure that weapons remain solely in the hands of state institutions. He emphasized Egypt's continued coordination with influential international powers to establish a ceasefire and prevent the region from sliding into further instability.
